A Voice Crying in the Wilderness
                                 "Behold, I send My messenger
and He shall prepare the way before Me."
                              (Malachi 3:1)

"A Light from on high will dawn upon us and visit us.
It will shine and give light to those in a dark place.
It will guide our feet onto the paths of peace."
(Luke 1:78-79)

"And I am sure that He Who began a good work in you
will continue to develop, perfect, and
bring it to full completion."
"So that you may learn to sense what is vital,
prize what is excellent and of real value."
(Philippians 1:6, 10)

"The voice of one crying in the wilderness:
Prepare the way of the Lord.
The crooked places shall be made straight
and the rough roads smooth."
(Luke 3: 4-5)

Today we become aware of a Messenger, a dawning awareness,
a voice crying in the wilderness,
an action of grace that will cause us to sense what is vital and of real value,
and an abiding presence that will see us through to the end.
His voice woos us.  It beckons us.
His voice gently calls to us...waiting for our response.
He never wavers.  He never quits speaking.
He looks for our eyes to fall upon Him.
He waits to embrace us.
He suffers alongside of us,
He waits for His Word to find a home in our hearts.

The work of the Holy Spirit begins in some remote region within
our lives.  It appears as a voice, crying in the wilderness.
This voice is a Messenger.
A voice in this wilderness may have been crying out for many years
seeking our attention and embrace.

As we pass from one year to another,
slowly a dawning begins to light a new path upon which to walk.
Our awareness grows as to what is of value and vital
for living out our daily lives.

God promises to develop, sustain, and finish the work
He has started.
He beckons us as a voice crying in the wilderness.
He comes as a Messenger to prepare the way in our hearts
for the His unique visitation.
He comes to make every crooked way straight and rough place smooth.
He comes to transform our lives from the dark places that trap us.

He continually is visiting us.
I wonder what message He is awakening in you today.
I wonder what good work he is developing and sustaining in you.
I wonder what "new thing" He has prepared for you.
Be awake....He is coming!
